Good morning, distinguished guests and leaders. It is an honor to be here in Boao, Hainan for the 2025 Asia Philanthropy Forum. My name is Dermawati Sihite. You may call me Emma. I am from the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park in Indonesia. Today, I would like to share a holistic approach to driving sustainable and community-focused programs in Morowali, Indonesia.

大家早上好，尊敬的各位来宾、各位领导。非常荣幸能来到海南博鳌参加2025亚洲公益论坛。我是印度尼西亚莫罗瓦力工业园区的Dermawati Sihite，大家可以叫我Emma。今天，我想分享我们在印尼莫罗瓦力推行可持续发展和社区聚焦项目的整体实践。

As a key player in global nickel supply chains, we fuel the world’s journey toward renewable energy. However, rapid industry scaling has also brought unique challenges. Our growth has attracted nearly 200,000 people to the region within a year, placing pressure on infrastructure and social services.

作为全球镍供应链中的重要一环，我们助力世界向可再生能源转型。然而，产业的快速扩张也带来了一系列独特挑战。园区的发展在一年内吸引了近20万人来到该地区，给基础设施和社会服务带来了压力。

We have therefore developed a five-year roadmap to systematically support community development from initiation to full independence. Our strategy rests on two pillars: Environment and Society.

因此，我们制定了五年路线图，系统性地支持社区发展，从启动直至实现完全自立。我们的战略立足于两大支柱：环境与社会。

Our environmental goal is to build community resilience by improving environmental quality around the industrial park. We believe a healthy environment is the foundation of a thriving community.

我们的环境目标是通过提升工业园区周边的环境质量，构建社区韧性。我们相信，健康的环境是繁荣社区的基石。

Our social goal is to foster real resilience by meeting essential needs and strengthening the capacity of surrounding communities, ensuring that national growth benefits everyone.

我们的社会目标是通过满足基本需求、增强周边社区的能力来培育真正的韧性，确保国家发展的红利惠及所有人。

We view our programs and community engagement as an investment — one that yields sustainable returns for all. That is why we focus not only on physical infrastructure but also on community empowerment and resilience.

我们将项目与社区参与视为一项投资——一项能为所有人带来可持续回报的投资。因此，我们不仅关注硬件基础设施，也注重社区赋能与韧性的建设。

We empower human capital through education. We have built educational facilities from kindergarten to college level across several villages, provided scholarships to thousands of students, and partnered with 24 Indonesian universities.

我们通过教育赋能人力资本。我们在多个村庄建立了从幼儿园到大学的教育设施，为数千名学生提供奖学金，并与24所印尼大学建立了合作。

We also promote grassroots education through rural literacy centers and libraries, fostering a reading culture in three locations and impacting over 150 children and teenagers.

We are committed to making public health accessible to all. For the past decade, we have provided free healthcare through our health clinics and hospitals, and we plan to continue by building more health facilities.

We support economic empowerment through farmer groups and small enterprises to strengthen local businesses and build self-sustaining institutions.

We also develop public infrastructure — constructing and renovating government, social, and public facilities — to address critical infrastructure gaps in our remote location.

Moving from social to environmental sustainability, we demonstrate long-term commitment by collaborating with government, NGOs, and the private sector.

Our programs include waste management, land rehabilitation, allocation of nearly 100 hectares for a new park and wildlife conservation area, and coastal and marine conservation initiatives.

我们的项目包括废物管理、土地修复、划拨近100公顷土地用于新建公园和野生动物保护区，以及开展沿海和海洋保护计划。

These efforts are part of our Biodiversity Action Plan, which also includes supporting core conservation zones in Brazil, reflecting our global commitment to biodiversity.

Finally, we have strengthened our sustainability pledge by signing a joint declaration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, aligning with globally recognized standards for sustainable industrial parks.

In conclusion, our journey in Morowali is grounded in a simple yet powerful belief: progress and community well-being must go hand in hand.
